Personally, one of the most infuriating things about golang is that they went "tuples? destructuring? that's hard, googlers are stupid. let's instead have tuples and destructuring, but exclusively for multiple returns"

*destructuring, not restructuring

⚠️ Promise.all() makes your code sensitive to destructuring order

🆕 Promise.allKeyed() is IMHO a better alternative in many cases

I've been using my "combine-promise" lib for that, and can finally deprecate it soon

'We need to be more distinctive let's get rid of what makes us distinctive.' The total anti-rationality of university destructuring.
A good challenge these days is to look at how universities portray their humanities degrees to potential undergraduates. At the same time as core modules are being hollowed out and made identical to everywhere else, departments are barred from championing specific expertise and unique offerings.
Whether I'm there or not next year, here are the things that have been replaced by a generic skills module including 3 weeks on Using AI:
1. My linguistics colleagues on accent and dialect change, and atittudes towards the local accent. Led by the accents in the room.

That same problem pre-chewing tends to let you really juice the quality of results you get from even small LLMs.

Which is not to knock it though. This sort of problem destructuring is exactly what you want to be doing. Having cheap primitives for this is great.

Kotlin is moving toward name-based destructuring – new syntax that will make reordering and moving properties a breeze.

No worries: There will be a long migration period with compiler and IDE support.

learned the difference between two different ways to unwrap an Exists (∃) in Lean: destructuring and choice. this was kind of unintuitive at first but kind people from Lean Zulip helped me see the light. turns out they are actually very different

I'll never not enjoy the elegance of destructuring in a language that supports it.
