We're all sort of eachother's fantasies. I am my own trans temporal fantasy. And in crossing time I give rise to other identities. Therefore visions of self and other have no inherent reality. Our common characteristic is a certain vulnerability to change.

What a wonderful thing to suddenly realize you matter. That the world has come by to say your contributions have not gone unnoticed, and they are greatly appreciated.

Raymond was my teacher once, and it was a great pleasure. He taught me to be rude.

In 2018 I saw Meg Day give a keynote on crip poetics at UPenn. I took strength from that talk last night when defending my work to a critic. (And Ruth Awad is one of the loveliest angels to ever walk the face of the Earth.)

I have a special place in my heart for people who talk to me after I’m done writing a poem. I don’t know what day of the week it is, what time of day it is, or even who I’m talking to.

That’s how total my commitment is. But also I’m neurocrip: I can’t do it any other way.

I am grateful to have navigated this process with co-editors Camisha Jones, Naomi Ortiz, and Mike Northen, who have thought so deeply about our community and the work we do as disabled writers. It is a joy to be able to celebrate fellow writers who have shaped so much of my work over these years.
