This is all well-known, written about by excellent people from @davidcolquhoun.bsky.social to @drjengunter.bsky.social and @drandrealove.bsky.social - why did the @theguardian.com run without modicum of fact-checking? UK doctors on reddit pretty annoyed about it too

Just popped into DoctorsUK reddit and the anti-overseas doctor sentiment is getting more and more overt. I bet these people look down at Reform types saying they don’t want immigrants taking their jobs, but somehow it’s fine to say stuff like this when the job requires a degree? 1/2

I've briefly went on r/doctorsUK and the conclusion I've come to is every doctor who posts there is a prick.

www.reddit.com/r/doctorsUK/... beggars belief every time I remember the “random allocation of foundation program places” policy is actually real

The doctorsUK sub reddit is quite entertaining on this.

You're sealioning, perhaps unintentionally.

The origin is from Poland but it is now widespread as a racist joke, as you can find with a simple search.

It’s hard to read such unprofessional & unpleasant comments from doctors about Martha’s Rule & Oliver’s training. Patient safety & culture change cannot happen with dismissive attitudes, mockery or derision in professional spaces

Sooooo many ss of his behaviour on X.

Some really damning ss from SM that I haven’t shared but I think maybe it’s time to show certain regulators 🤔

I found r/doctorsUK and r/juniordoctorsUK really really depressing with the disdain they seemingly hold for patients, especially with chronic illness, and other NHS staff, it was quite an eye opener

like obviously it's a self selecting demographic of doctors who also post on reddit but still

It can't even be enforced lol. Its very common to default on student loans if you move overseas.https://www.reddit.com/r/doctorsUK/comments/1nkix0s/if_you_move_abroad_and_decide_to_stay_there/

There's loads of discussions on r/DoctorsUK about it with multiple people talking about how they were either there or voted on it.

The minutes haven't come out yet, hence no update, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Maybe the post saying it's fake news is fake news.

Interesting to see some impact form the Leng Review already coming into place.

Someone on Reddit very kindly made transcripts and summarised the Q+A of Professor Lengs webinars around the subjects

Interesting reading.

if you want to feel depressed, go and read r/DoctorsUK or r/GPUK and see the kind of stuff they openly post about their patients and colleagues

you only have to go on the likes of r/doctorsUK to get an insight into how the medical profession talk about folk with ME and similar chronic fatigue conditions, it's very depressing

Die Finanzprobleme der UK ließen sich sehr gut lösen durch ein Ende des triple locks, deutlich höherer Besteuerung von Rentnern und natürlich den ganzen Asyl und PIP Betrug beenden. Muss man nur wollen
