Telegram founder Pavel Durov recently announced that Telegram has formally applied to ICANN for the .gram top-level domain. Should the application be approved, every Telegram user would eventually be granted a personal top-level domain linked directly to their account name - for instance, landian.gram. Currently Awaiting ICANN Approval Domain registration and allocation of this kind require ICANN's approval before proceeding. Telegram has already submitted its application to register the .gram domain, and if the request succeeds, the domain would be operated directly by Telegram itself, rather than being distributed through conventional domain registrars who then charge users for individual registrations.

Telegram have applied for .gram to relinquish control from Montenegro but we don't know exactly how it would look.
