#EGFR-Targeted
Amivantamab is a targeted bispecific antibody and works by targeting cancer in three ways. It blocks both EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor), a protein that helps tumors grow, and MET, a pathway that cancer cells often use to escape treatment. It also helps activate the immune system to attack

Glad to share our work in Science Advances on how targeted cancer therapy promotes the persistence of topoisomerase 1 cleavage complexes, which are involved in the emergence of resistance in lung cancer. Many thanks to Olivier Sordet's lab and to all co-authors. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Persistent TOP1 cleavage complexes in drug-tolerant cells drive adaptive resistance to EGFR-targeted therapies in lung cancer
Resistance to targeted cancer therapies often arises from drug-tolerant cells, which survive treatment by entering a nonproliferative state. Over time, these cells can acquire mutations that contribut...

Somewhere between 10 and 20% of patients have EGFR+ lung cancer. It’s more common in women and people of Asian descent. It occurs often in a different part of the lung than a smoking-related cancer (mine was in my upper left lung). Thankfully, there are targeted genetic drugs, like the one I take.

Advances in research have brought us targeted therapies for lung cancers like EGFR, ALK & RET. These are often more tolerable & allow good quality of life. Like for Melanie wh EGFR LC in England. She's not only leading a normal life, but hopeful for others. #LCAM @oncogenecancer.bsky.social

🧬Can one kinase be targeted at two sites?
A study introduces bitopic inhibition using BCR::ABL1 as a model. PonatiLink-2 links ponatinib and asciminib to target the ATP and allosteric sites, improving activity against resistant mutants and kinase selectivity. The strategy was also extended to EGFR.
