Water from wells at the engine house in Pumphouse Lane was pumped to the water tower that stood near the top of Victoria Grove, built to provide a head of water at the top of the town. Demolished in the early 1980s after being derelict for some years.

For my birthday it was brunch at the venue I knew would do us proud - Artisan Cafe East Cowes. Look at their exquisite presentation of a very simple avo on toast. Fantastic food in such an enjoyable location.

Un très sympa (à chaînes) sur la Médina entre Cowes et EastCowes

Discovered yesterday that the renowned #British #architect #JohnNash is buried at this pretty church near #OsborneHouse in #EastCowes, #IsleOfWight. He made so many of our beautiful buildings like #BrightonPavillion and much of #Regency #London. The castle he designed nearby was demolished in 1950s.
