This emphasis on polling, momentum, and seat projections overshadowed explanations of the proportional system, which remained poorly understood by the public. Both Plaid Cymru and Reform actively promoted the two-party narrative, urging tactical voting, while broadcasters often echoed these perspectives in the final campaign week. Although the media reflected poll results, their focus on winners and losers risked sidelining discussions of policies and the intended inclusive nature of proportional representation. Future research is needed to determine whether voters were swayed by tactical voting strategies, misunderstandings, or media framing.
