People also seem to conveniently elide the fact that Wikipedia became more widely accepted because it got much better, and consistent.
Blogging, podcasts, and wikipedia were never considered the equivalent of slop in the pre-AI. They were often low prestige forms of writing with less quality control than big publications, but nobody thought they were thoughtlessly mass produced. They were/are the labors of individual creators.
