Went to 4, yes 4 used record stores today and scoured all the bins. Still not found any copies of Devo's first three albums. Did find an absolute busted version of DJ Shadow Entroducing which they wanted £60 for and wouldn't budge. It was held together with cellotape

I worked at a pretty big independent record store when it came out. Everyone who worked there would get to play one or two records per shift. It was great because there were so many different music tastes represented. Entroducing... Was a rare record I would hear multiple times a shift.

A friend let me borrow The Private Press in 2002; we traded CDs. (I think I lent him something I don't even remember.)
I listened to The Private Press on repeat. Had to hunt down Entroducing.
Got the double vinyl reissue a few weeks back. Love it.

wondering if the critical success of Entroducing had an impact there, making the case for sampling as Art

Wow. That is super cool. I came late to Entroducing but it's been a favorite for decades now. The show sounds awesome.

DJ Shadow celebrates the 30th anniversary of #Entroducing by going on tour and playing the complete album from start to finish for the first time ever. Now you get a chance to hear him rebuild the songs from those samples.

By election time we'll have enough clips of him saying vile shit at that fundraiser to remix them into Entroducing... DJ Paxton
how many politically toxic things can you theoretically say at one fundraiser?
Fifth recording just dropped. www.cnn.com/2026/10/09/p...

Excitedly saw DJ Shadow has added an extra date in London for the 30th anniversary Entroducing tour, but then it's with the BBC symphony orchestra, I just don't get how that translates to a classical sound and is still the same

I can get the power of hearing music live thru the orchestra but to celebrate Entroducing, a sampling masterpiece doesn't seem the right way, I'd wanna hear ever drum and scratch as it was

Entroducing... rules. have you ever heard the album Perdition City by the band Ulver? their other albums are various subgenres of metal but Perdition City is this jazzy trip-hop experimental journey thing that I always put on alongside Entroducing.

Some very formative albums for me, and then Eccojams, which is how I learned to love both vaporwave AND Fleetwood Mac

I am in the venue and I am HYPED. The opening act mentioned the first time he heard Entroducing. For me? That was college in the early '00s. That album completely rearranged my brain and my music tastes on first listen. The album still sounds unlike anything out there. I'm so grateful for it.
