Snakebites kill hundreds of thousands of people every year yet the best treatments...have barely changed in more than a century. There are lots of potential innovations being studied...one has just passed important tests in animal models: a cocktail of ‘nanobodies’ that thwarts Indian cobra venoms.

-Wash the site with soap and water (to prevent infections from bacteria present in the snake's mouth).
-Keep the person hydrated (drink plenty of water to protect the kidneys).
-Go to the hospital immediately. Time is crucial. Only the antivenom cures the envenoming.

Dolphins are known to "pass around" pufferfish, lightly envenoming themselves with its narcotic-like tetrodotoxin

Debate continues on whether this constitutes animal recreational drug use, but I want to ask a DIFFERENT question:

What's up with the pufferfish's skeleton?

The deadliest snakebite hotspots around the world where travellers should think twice before visiting
For many travellers, exploring forests, mountains and tropical landscapes offers unforgettable experiences. However, some of the world's most beautiful destinations are also home to highly venomous snakes. While the chances of being bitten remain low for tourists who follow safety guidelines, certain regions report significantly higher numbers of snakebite cases each year due to their climate, wildlife and large rural populations. The World Health Organisation classifies snakebite envenoming as a Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). By its estimates, somewhere between 1.8 and 2.7 million people worldwide are bitten by venomous snakes every year, a toll that translates into tens of thousands of deaths and countless cases of lasting disability.

Envenoming can sometimes lead to anemia and jaundice, with the most severe cases progressing to kidney failure and even death. These critical conditions are driven by the hemolysis process, which can be confirmed through blood tests.

I want her to be an archer and to wear light armor.

In fact... the attack cantrip I'm giving her is basically envenoming an arrow and launching it... I won't get damage past the bow's base damage until level 5.

And I plan to take a feat for light armor...

I COULD grab ranger... but don't wanna.
