4 Stars from me Finding this book was a bit like finding a lost shoe as my mind swiftly drew back to a time when I devoured books like Malory Towers and St Clare's, fascinated by these other worlds inhabited by girls whose lives were so utterly different to my own. The Night Stairs, for me, is the grown up version of these books with an added sprinkle of religion and Erin Kelly has delivered this beautifully by setting the story around a tight core of characters, within the boarding school setting.

The Skeleton Key by Erin Kelly is the story of one book, two families and a lifetime of obsession. An exciting psychological thriller.

And another week passes us by. Seven days closer to Christmas. Seven more days of reading and not writing reviews - do not ask how many I have to catch up on now. I am trying not to think about it. Decisions have been (sort of) made, and I am still not sure how I feel about it. But the big thing this week is that #Bookvent is well and truly underway and my first eight books have, as of this morning, been revealed!

Well that was a long old week. Super busy at work so it feels like I’ve done nothing but. Extremely thankful for the weekend which was, for once, nice, warm and dry. Needed to escape town - local carnival, noisy as - so we drove across to Welsh Wales and paid a visit to Bodnant Garden. Haven’t been there in far too many years and it was lovely to get a good walk in around the various meadows and woodlands. Some lovely flower, fascinating shaped trees (yes, we’re appreciating landscape gardens old) and amazing views across the river estuary.
