The interns have been learning the digitisation process in our photography studio. This has involved operating our Phase One 150mp Cultural Heritage camera and Guardian Copystand. They have also been getting to grips with our Capture One photography software

The oldest historical source for this research is c.11thC Exeter Book. Riddle 15 is about a hunted animal defending its family in a ‘hole in the hill' - believed to be a #badger. theriddleages.bham.ac.uk/riddles/tag/...
@ExeterDH scanned the book for online viewing (original at @ExeterCathedral).

Off to the Somerset Heritage Centre for some #DigitalHumanities training with @ExeterDH.

Can I get a computer to read and decipher a selection of (printed) air photo title strips?

Until we get there, it’s nice to spot some lovely @GWRHelp heritage ⬇️

Today's DAME digitisation treat is the 'Kitab al-Mujarrabat' (EUL MS 218), a treatise on healing magic written by Al-Shaykh Aḥmad ibn ʻUmar Dayrabī (1651-1738) who taught at al-Alzhar. As ever, grateful to @ExeterDH for their expertise, support & facilities
