We've discovered over 6,000 alien worlds. But do these exoplanets have exomoons and exorings? Almost certainly! And we're allllllllmost there in discovering them, too.

How far are we from finding exomoons and exorings?
Although astronomers have found thousands of exoplanets, the number of confirmed exomoons—and exorings—is still zero. But that may soon change

We have a hidden column on the NASA Exoplanet Archive called 'Number of exomoons' and I AM SO READY TO BUST IT OUT WHEN NEEDED.

Convinced myself for about 15 minutes that I’d thought of a new way of detecting exomoons but eventually realised why it wouldn’t work. It was a rollercoaster while it lasted but it was fun! #science

The most sensitive search for exomoons ever - moons 2.5x smaller than Europa are excluded! And around a temperate Earth-sized planet to boot. What’s really neat is that, for the first time, we can confidently say another Earth does not enjoy total Solar eclipses.

Mildly frustrating how little literature exists modeling the possible internal structures and atmospheric compositions of cold circum-superjovian icy exomoons with masses >Ganymede. Of course it makes sense that everyone angles in for worlds that might have detectable biosignatures but y'know.
