It probably won't matter, but his bragging of working 120 hours/week may be able to be used against him, since his supposed status limits him to working 130 days in a year. He started ~2 weeks ago, so only ~16 weeks left. If judges/someone could delay him, might help.

I believe this concerns the G500 and G600 models only, of which an estimated <20 units were sold to Canada.

It concerns an Airworthiness Directive related to a known failure in the Fuel System Icing Protection (FSIP) unit which was fixed.

Transport Canada very likely wants to make sure it works.

If working 60+ days, MUST:

- Be impartial
- Limit of 130 days
- File financial disclosure

CANNOT:
- Write on matters of duties
- perform representational activities on *any* FSIP matter
- Use position for private gain

What are the restrictions on my outside activities? Teaching, speaking, writing – SGEs working less than 60 days a year can teach, speak, or write for compensation on any topic, including federal sector labor relations, except for a particular, specific Panel matter the Member is working on. [Emphasis added] SGEs working 60 days or more a year are prohibited from teaching, speaking or writing on matters relating to your duties but not prohibited as to federal labor relations in general. [End emphasis] NOTE – SGEs cannot, in outside activities, use non-public information derived as a result of Panel work Representing persons before the federal government (18 U.S.C. §§ 203, 205) – Generally, you may do so, except for specific matters you have worked on at the Panel. But, if you have worked 60 or more days during the immediately preceding 365-day period, then you may not perform representational activities regarding *any* matter pending before FSIP. Regular employees are subject to much more significant restrictions on representational activities before the federal government. What happens if I perform duties for more than 130 days in my first 365-day period? You are still an SGE. Your SGE status is based on our good faith estimate that you will not work for more than 130 days. The FLRA should be making this good faith estimate for each 365 day period of your term Do I have to keep filing financial disclosure reports? Yes. If you work no more than 60 days a year, you must file an OGE Form 450 annually as a new entrant. These are due to the DAEO in May of each year. If you work more than 60 days a year and your rate of pay is 120% of minimum rate for GS-15, then you must submit a public OGE Form 278 report each May. To what other ethics rules am I subject? You may not use your official position for private gain. – For example, you may not use your official position to promote your private arbitration practice. NOTE – could refer to position only as part of biographical statement. Further, you may not use your official position to promote the financial interests of others, e.g., fundraising for a charity by using official title. You must maintain impartiality. – You must not participate in a matter where a reasonable person would question your ability to be impartial.

Background/aims To determine the long-term effects of vitreoretinal surgery to treat myopic traction maculopathy (MTM) and to determine the differences in the postoperative results between fovea-sparing internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling (FSIP) and total ILM peeling (TP).Methods We studied 209 eyes of 189 patients with high myopia (refractive error >6.0 dioptres (D) or an axial length ≥26.5 mm) that had undergone pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for MTM. The inclusion criteria were high myopia and a postoperative follow-up period of >5 years. Surgical outcomes were compared between eyes treated with FSIP and those with TP.Results There were 28 eyes in the FSIP group and 38 eyes in the TP group. The preoperative and 1, 3 and 5 years postoperative best-corrected visual acuity was not significantly different between the FSIP group and the TP group. For eyes with a postoperative full-thickness macular hole (MH), there were 4 (14.3%) eyes in the FSIP group and 3 (7.9%) eyes in the TP group. The rate of the development of a postoperative MH was not significantly different between the two groups (p=0.668). There were 0 eyes in the FSIP group and 4 (10.5%) eyes in the TP group that developed postoperative macular atrophy (MA). This difference was not significant (p=0.212).Conclusions Fovea sparing is useful both for improving vision and preventing complications. We suggest that FSIP has the possible benefit of avoiding postoperative MA.
