It's wild to think of how Mayor Bowser wants us to remember her legacy. A billion dollars for a billionaire's stadium, but no easing for neighborhood street festivals.
Mayor Bowser returned JLG's "Porchfest Permitting Emergency Amendment Act of 2026" (B26-827) unsigned - it's now enacted into law (through February 1, 2027), so it'll be in effect for this Saturday's Adams Morgan PorchFest! The temporary bill (B26-828) should become law in Jan.!

You know, in SF's Japantown, they built this condo right next to where they shut down the street for major festivals, and the condo residents got mad they couldn't get their cars out on festival days. You know what we did?

💯. You do something creative and fun, compliment each other and give each other free things, meet all your neighbors, see things that are cute and funny and scary but in a containable way, and somehow end up with a pile of candy. Ideally there are also dance parties, babies, and dogs
