I took the photo on a footpath near Fiskerton in Nottinghamshire. There are tall hedgerows on both sides of the broken gate. In the foreground are nettles and a variety of grasses etc. The gap in the hedgerow gives a view through to a golden field.

When I got back from the walk my brother in law asked if the river looked blue today because some days it is really blue. As my grandmother would have said, “I should say so. Not half!” She came from Battersea and was a Londoner through and through.
