#FoodBanks
And we have now progressed from data analysis to policy recommendations.

I told her that we'd calculate the cash value of her candy haul, that I'd ask her to raid her piggy bank and donate 1/3 the candy cash value to a local food bank, and that I'd add on a 5X match.

We loved sending a dozen LFC Boston members to the Arsenal match yesterday.

This group mostly met over WhatsApp, but then organized meetups at Fans Supporting Foodbanks, Taggy's and other Liverpool landmarks on the way to The Kop.

The government DONATION to foodbanks and yet making life even more tenuous for those in receipt of Jobseeker?
It's ridiculous that someone was paid nearly $900k for being fired, but even more outrageous that the Albanese government refuses to say why they abruptly terminated a Secretary when there were hundreds of thousands of unlawful payment cancellations.

The food could quite easily be donated to foodbanks and charities. Think about it: most frozen foods can be defrosted overnight ready for cookery. I have to laugh at people here suggesting the stuff is spoiled the minute it warms up.

In my 35 years of working with benefit recipients never once did cutting their benefit help them to find work. What it often did was create anxiety, push some into darker recesses of society or force them onto other less perilous routes out of poverty (eg foodbanks). It is a nonsense theory!

What hundreds of #FoodBanks are facing around the country. We’ve reached the FAFO phase of this particular kind of cruelty.

It's great news but, in the big picture, it's also a relatively small amount of land for a grotesquely large amount of money going to an already obscenely rich landowner. Brilliant news for wildlife and the public but - like foodbanks - we shouldn't be here in the first place.

What good is a free can of #food if you can't open it?

If you donate to #foodbanks, consider donating hand-cranked can openers too.

To a #homeless person, a can opener is a prized possession.

Economic conditions change, so investors will have to take what they can get.

In industries like oil, business shouldn't be immune to the hardships the rest of us face, and rake in obscene profits while we're queuing at foodbanks and doing without heating in winter.

That's immoral.

England has Foodbanks instead because their government couldn't run a gang bang in a brothel.

Is it just me but the idea of stockpiling seems another example of government's tone deafness to day to day problems so many people on low income face. If they are already getting their food from foodbanks or even just about managing how do they afford to stockpile & where do they store it?

doing the lords work! How many people facing financial ruin due to online gambling have to visit foodbanks
October 26, 2026 at 8:26 PM
Or we could just help them locally too and ensure foodbanks, churches etc have some extra?

If you have time, volunteer to help people learn to read - kids and adults both! If you have money, buy good used books at used bookstores, thrift shops, yard sales - donate them to Friends of Library groups, give them to foodbanks, schools, anywhere to get them in people’s hands.

📢 Another pre-budget reminder that the UK has become a land of Ferraris and Foodbanks. The money exists to improve life for the vast majority - it's just that it's currently hoarded in the greedy grasping hands of a few. The budget needs to set a course to change this... #TaxTheRich #EndBillionaires

Ranvir Singh this morning: "9 million people in the UK, I find it obscene, in 2026 are on the verge of or already using foodbanks"

Meanwhile the richest 50 families have more wealth than half the population. The levels of inequality in this country are staggering.
