I remember going around with other freshmen to visit the different frat houses during the start of fall semester, and aside from the fact that most of them didn't seem to be interested in me (I didn't exactly have the fratboy look/personality), the prospect of constant abuse was a huge turnoff-
Another thing about fraternities is that the hazing rituals where slightly older young men would physically, mentally emotionally and sometimes even sexually abuse slightly younger young men have always disturbed and upset me greatly. And it’s really telling that I’ve seen men defend those too
