For this week's #WildflowerHour #HelleborineChallenge the tricky to find Dune Helleborine, I only managed to find this one at #FyldeSandDunes on Thursday. Thankfully it was in flower! @wildflowerhour.bsky.social @bsbibotany.bsky.social #bloomscrolling
A green flower in a green place, this one was maybe the size of a 12 inch ruler, hard to spot amongst grass the same height and higher, but very pleased I did!

It's a #butterfly day! 🤩😍🎉🦋 Spurred on by @wildflowerhour.bsky.social's #ByTheSea challenge we headed to #StAnnes, and enjoyed grayling's dancing round us. Great camouflage and a very pretty open wing that I **almost** got a photo of 🤣 @savebutterflies.bsky.social #FyldeSandDunes
A fabulous grayling butterfly, I've found these lovely butterflies both on sand dunes and limestone areas. Very quick,and when they land if you take your eye off them their camouflage will hide them eternally!

First day of this year's Christmas tree re-purposing on St Annes beach. Great weather (which helps) and plenty of hard work put in by the volunteers today. We should see these buried trees become sand dunes in the next few weeks/months. #FyldeSandDunes #LancashireWildlifeTrust #conservation

A couple of weeks after all the Christmas trees were buried on St Annes beach to encourage new sand dunes, we were back. Today was about planting Marram grass on the exposed patches to consolidate the accumulated sand.

Glorious day for planting Christmas trees with the #FyldeSandDunes Project at St Anne's Beach ☀️🌲 Christmas trees donated by the community are planted in the sand to encourage the development of new dunes. Incredible #conservation work being carried out by project partners and the #community 👏
