I'd say its mostly aesthetics. Definitely recommend the demo and keep in mind it's built off gzdoom so its more "boomer shooter" obviously than source game.

Played the demo for divine frequency and it's really cool but think I'll wait on it. The issue with gzdoom games I've found is they all feel sorta samey gameplay wise despite a lot of them doing impressive things to inject new mechanics. The art direction/level design helps a lot.
