Funny story: A few years ago there was a museum exhibit in Montreal of the history of video games. I took jr., age 12 or so at the time. Jr. got to show off some Minecrafting skillz, but then I found a Galaga machine.

My "origin" video game was definitely "Space Invaders" in an arcade.
Never made it to any arcade I went to. We probably had poor distribution in Winnipeg. I don’t even recall seeing Space Invaders in the arcade — just lots of Galaxian. (Played millions of Space Invaders clones on computers.)

Pac-man on my cousin's Atari 2600.
Played it every time we visited.
When I got my own it came with Combat, which is two player only, so limited fun when played solo.
At some point I got Space Invaders and Galaxian, so all was good.

Someone has to make a Space Invaders that isn't a solved game. It probably already exists, but I don't know about it.
Oh, and Galaxian with Space Invaders ish time pressure would be sick too, so waiting for all the enemies to charge isn't viable anymore.
