I miss how I grew up judging movies based on how they were released: The faster it went from cinema to video to tv, the worse it was. A 2+ year wait = epically good.
Most importantly, it let cinephiles find the limited release indies and low budget gems almost by instinct.

I grew up in a small town. Our police force was 1 investigator, and about 5 beat cops. My older brother bought a police scanner when I was still in elementary school. We only picked up 2 tv channels so this quickly became one of our main forms of entertainment. We would listen nightly. #goodoldays
