Spent the day in Deal. Gusbourne fizz, haddock & chips, Climpson coffee (at the seaside!) and a lovely stroll and gadabout. Home with a new straw bag and a punnet of strawberries.

I nearly ran out of cabernet sauvignon whilst midnight pie-baking, so I popped down to the cellar for a back-up.
And there, atop a case of Gusbourne sparkling, was an incredibly familiar-looking orange cat.
Cozy as you please.

Taxpayers also footed the bill for 11 bottles on Italian Valpolicella 2017 red wine, and 10 bottles of Chapel Down white wine from Kent.

No, it's the quality sparkling wines from bigger (it's all relative!) producers like Chapel Down, Nyetimber, Gusbourne, Rathfinny etc. I imagine the clientele is largely the wine curious, expats and corporate / diplomatic.
