Last night I dreamt that there was a new Pixar movie called "Whalefall", featuring cute, animated versions of the nightmare creatures that live in the deep sea. It was about a new community growing around the dead whale as they all feast on the carcass, and it was somehow very sweet and wholesome.

honestly kind of surprising that they don't, considering all the [noun]fish common names we ended up with. catfish dogfish ratfish butterflyfish toothfish hatchetfish stonefish rockfish cowfish moonfish lampfish bonefish blobfish trumpetfish waspfish hagfish and that's off the top of my head

Yeah, but. Like hagfish secretions make a slime 7x the volume of the hagfish. There must be a secretion, maybe some other deep sea anachronism like coelacanths that gives 7x enlightenment.
