Hard to believe this is being floated again. WTF?

If Doerkson won't take the wrath Hecate Strait seriously, do you think he'll take the Haida, Tsimshian, Tlingit, Nisga'a, Haisla, Heiltsuk, Nuxalk, Oweekeno, Gitxsan, Tahltan, Wet'suwet'en... etc. seriously?

FAFO!

TC Energy finalizes Indigenous partnership in Coastal GasLink pipeline project
TC Energy Corp. has finalized an investment deal granting five First Nations an economic stake in the Coastal GasLink pipeline project. The agreement, which involves the Haisla Nation, Halfway River First Nation, McLeod Lake Indian Band, Saulteau First Nations, and West Moberly First Nations, establishes their economic interest in the entity holding TC Energy's limited partner interest in the pipeline. Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed. This marks the first of two planned Indigenous investment transactions related to Coastal GasLink, with a second deal anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of 2023. The company recently announced plans to double the capacity of the 670-kilometre Coastal GasLink pipeline, which supplies natural gas to LNG Canada's facility in Kitimat, British Columbia. This expansion follows LNG Canada's final investment decision to proceed with Phase 2 of its Kitimat facility. The pipeline project, which has been a subject of significant discussion regarding Indigenous rights and economic participation, represents a notable development in the company's engagement with Indigenous communities. The deal underscores TC Energy's commitment to fostering economic partnerships with First Nations while advancing its infrastructure projects. The company's strategic focus on expanding pipeline capacity aligns with broader industry trends in the energy sector, particularly in the context of growing LNG export capabilities from British Columbia. The Coastal GasLink pipeline, currently operational, is a critical component of Canada's natural gas infrastructure, connecting production areas to export terminals. The completion of this investment deal represents a significant milestone in the company's efforts to integrate Indigenous economic participation into its core business operations. This development comes amid increasing emphasis on reconciliation and economic partnerships between energy companies and Indigenous communities across Canada. The company's approach reflects a growing recognition of the importance of meaningful Indigenous involvement in major infrastructure projects. The announcement highlights TC Energy's ongoing efforts to balance commercial objectives with social responsibility, particularly in the context of Canada's energy transition and Indigenous rights framework.

I've always wondered what my local MP, Ellis Ross for Skeena-Bulkley Valley (Haisla Nation, Kitimaat Village), and Edmonton NW MP, Billy Morin (Cree Nation)—on the INAN Committee—have thought of P.P.'s statement!

Perhaps P.P.'s view is shared by Ross, who helped establish LNG in Kitimat = work.
