I feel like I've learned a lot this year about how certain dye schemes work up in crochet. I've decided I'm more partial to speckled yarns. They have variety while also not working into obvious spirals. The spiral is cool - just not really my thing.

DK/worsted: Filcolana Peruvian, multiply, great stitch def, quite soft, comparable to Cascade 220 DK from the US, which is also NSW, both have a very wide range of colors, though Peruvian has less forest greens. Both very good and affordable.

I think they have resumed shipping to the US

www.theweeyarncompany.com is in the NL, trans indie dyer who has specialized in NSW yarn of all weights. He's a fiber nerd and always interested in lesser known sheep. Rather pricet, though. But combining a handdyed lace with a commercial heavier yarn is a good budget compromise. Queer colors ;-)
