Last week, work and pensions secretary Liz Kendall published a green paper including a package of cuts to disability benefits. Up to 1.2 million fewer people could be eligible for Pip by 2029/30 as a result of the changes, according to the Resolution Foundation thinktank, including existing claimants losing their benefits when their needs are reassessed. - Extra energy costs for medical equipment
- Accessible transport or car adaptations
- Specialist services and therapies
- Paying more to get the weekly shop delivered
- Having to pay for a carer
- Higher heating bills

150,000 people will lose out on carer's benefits as a result of the cuts to PIP
DWP impact assessment text: "By 2029/30 an estimated 800,000 people will not receive the Daily Living component of PIP who would have under current rules, a significant proportion of these people will retain access to the Mobility component and will remain on the benefit. A further 150,000 people will not receive Carer’s Allowance or the UC Carer Element as a result."
