Spent countdown with friends in Golden Gai, and it was wall-to-wall westerners in the area. Many were in line for hatsumode at Hanazono Shrine. By contrast, today in Monzennakacho, westerners were few and far between, with hardly any in the lengthy hatsumode queue for Tomioka Hachimangū.
