#DataCenters can definitely create #heatislands, but using #satellite data would significantly overestimate the public health implications of it.

I often think about how the increased housing density in Seattle is creating a heat island effect. More housing is good, but the attendent destruction of our trees is bad, and increased hardscape on sloping hills is problematic.

That is most definitely NOT the heat island effect. Heat Islands are from asphalt and other dark surfaces converting SUNLIGHT into heat. The amount of heat exhausted from buildings is negligible next to the amount that arrives from the sun.

Not only that, HIGHLY DETRIMENTAL to health of zoo animals, &local residential areas. DataCenters create #HeatISLANDS of up to 16degree INCREASE. Nashville's highest temp 2025 was 101; that would make 117 DEGREES real possibility! NO plants/humans/animals could live there! They're also killing BEES!
