The problem with AI sycophancy debates is often the framing itself.

Output quality depends less on the model and more on the interaction.

When users bring context, domain knowledge, and genuine questions, AI amplifies that. When they don't, it amplifies that too.

What we call “alignment” is a temporary stabilization under continuous drift. Asymmetry matters. Focus shifts to stabilizing interaction.
