The clean room part will be the real test, since proving nobody on the team touched the original code or private docs is what keeps these projects out of court. Curious whether any of them are documenting their process the way the old IBM PC BIOS clone teams did.

I would suggest you investigate the activities of IBM during Nazi Germany - as a reference point.

Insert that IBM thing from FIFTY FUCKING YEARS AGO about "A computer can never be held accountable, therefore a computer must never make a management decision.”
Companies aren't people, technology isn't people. Make the people mandating the use of AI criminally liable for its impact already.

The 2020 date is when IBM apologized.

One problem is that the Linux kernel still probably has to go because decisionmaking on LKML seems to be to a large part driven by now by IBM and NVidia and those specific companies probably can pay for their own contributions to the kernel (or comp it out of LLM cloud products they run themselves).

Q: How many IBM 370's does it take to execute a job?
A: Four, three to hold it down, and one to rip its head off.

Your computer is fast because it uses "out-of-order processing," doing multiple things in your code simultaneously and collating the results, thanks to a 1968 algorithm created by a Lynn Conway. IBM fired her for her gender transition, and she didn't get the credit for her work until 2020.

IBM says critical Langflow flaws affect versions 1.0.0–1.12.8 and may enable authentication bypass or remote code execution. Version 1.13.0 fixes them; a Metasploit module for CVE-2026-93680 lists MCP tools but does not execute code.

Internships are often the key to a successful career in cybersecurity. Students from High Point University have secured positions at major firms like Microsoft and IBM after valuable hands-on experiences. Consider investing in your future through internships.

how old are we talking? because mine is... old.

No, printers have pretty much always been hostile,
and the first computer I used was an IBM 403 driven by punch cards, paper tape, and a plug-in-the-wires logic board. (~1970, designed in the late 40s.)

My first laser printer was a wet-process Imagen that occasionally leaked carbon-black kerosine.

I forgot. I also spent 50 years+ building software fromn my very first Fortran program on a IBM 1620 to today where I still write software, now for fun for android and windows systems. So I'm free to walk around not with a phone in my pocket like I did for the majority of my years.

Yes, in Typing I. We got IBM Selectrics in Typing II.

idk what kinda weird ass tech job this is anymore
my day is like
> corpo tableau prep, presentation prep for a big report to the director
> complex sql in an aging ibm system with no database diagram, surviving on workflow application connections trying to send out data requests

I mean, Disney isn't going after fanfic at the moment, but I wouldn't rub their nose in it.
The two things I know about IP law are
1) Don't fuck with IBM over patents
2) Don't fuck with Disney over copyright and trademark

76% of middle school and 73% of high school classroom educators say AI is used in their classroom at least weekly, per an IBM-commissioned survey (Sept 2). It covers AI broadly, not agents. AI is already routine in secondary classrooms. Readiness should come before anything more autonomous.

I've been watching $IBM and IBM must marry N3/N3E chiplets, CoWoS+HBM3E and PowerVia/GAA or accept ~20-25% TOPS/W BEOL/TSV drag; co-packaged photonics needed to fix fclk/BW. Mispriced.

Unix tip of the day: config file /etc/inputrc handles a lot of the terminal behaviors, and the very first line "bell style" is where you can turn off the window flashing when you hit a scroll limit

(it started doing that after I upgraded my terminal environment and it was driving me insane)
