ILWU Local 34 have commemorated the life of Renee Good by arranging to spell her name on the ship they were loading in Oakland. The ship then went to Tacoma where other working people took notice.

Hell yeah, another reminder that longshoremen are based as hell. After George Floyd was killed by the police in 2020 the ILWU shut down the entire west coast shipping industry for 8 hours on Juneteenth in solidarity with the BLM movement.

So the top hourly wage the ILU is asking for in these negotiations won't even get them to what ILWU workers are making *today* until 2027, when the ILWU contract is up for renegotiation. Don't listen to management propaganda about this. The workers want pay parity, and they deserve it.
