La vieille blague "the s in IoT stands for security" ne vieillit malheureusement pas beaucoup

Eu estudando sobre IOT e me perguntando: mas será que precisa ter Internet no FILTRO DE ÁGUA?

Your IOT or IIOT is a major risk.

AI is the IoT
You may ask: why do fridges need to be connected to the internet in the first place? Why can't you turn them up and down with a big dial? The answer is that we've spent the last two decades persuading every business that they have to be a tech business and this is what happens.
More cyberattacks on refrigeration infrastructure—this time in Belgium, Sweden, and Luxembourg

Can we finally have a conversation about the inherent risks of everything being IoT?
Cyberattack on France’s national blood service (EFS) via its refrigeration contractor Coolworld. Hackers reset freezers keeping blood donor samples at -30°C to a target of 110°C. The thing that stopped it from destructive impact was an on-call technician who noticed the temperatures going up.

"The S in IoT stands for security".

IoT security is a fucking disaster quite a lot of the time. Things are cheaply made, poorly validated and inappropriately implemented pretty regularly.

With that said, there's a balance between concern for impacts of security gaps and not victim blaming civilian infrastructure for being attacked.

again IOT was a mistake

Que maravillosa era la IoT ¿Eh?

IOT haters vindicated

Wenn uns doch nur jemand vor IOT gewarnt hätte… Achja, wurden wir ja. Seit Jahrzehnten. Vom CCC.🤦🏻‍♂️

We dont need IoT

This is industrial IoT stuff. Cold chain traceability, for one.

Obviously the implementation is very bad but it does make sense to have it connected

as the old adage goes "in 'IoT', the 'S' stands for Security"

This is the future of IoT and over optimization.

You don’t need aggressive monitoring and alerts if you have quality humans in the loop.

There are countless layers of gaps in responsibility taking.

Most iot vendors will say "installation is up to the customer, not our problem" and commercial iot isn't covered the same way as consumer iot is in the regulations (many people are surprised to discover this).

oh yeah I was just addressing the "why change ever" part. doesn't need to be IoT.
