'Indigineous people tearing up paper is the same as people roaming the halls trying to murder their political opponents, I am very smart'
I saw this disruption. And it's NOT acceptable. It's not noble or brave or decent or chic. Legislatures are where we go to solve our problems. From my perspective, this isn't any different from a Jan 6 situation on a smaller scale.

Not only does this stir up historical memory with respect to the federal government’s abuses of indigineous people, but it also has an unsavory connection to Dred Scott.

"Multiculturality" can be (and in many places IS) a shared value.

For instance: if my asian-diaspora, pacific islander, latinx, anglo-caucasian, and indigineous neighbors all share "multiculturality" as a value, then my neighborhood will have (again, for instance) amazing backyard BBQ parties.

There's a saying attributed to Indigineous people; "Only the government would believe you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom of a blanket, and have a longer blanket."

I noticed how she slid into “Indigineous” and “we”, like she’s ready to pull out an Indian princess story from her family tree.

watched a video that said indigineous music has far reaching influences including dubstep, but they didn't describe anything directly suggesting that there is any influence on dubstep unless i extrapolate from indigineous people inventing Drums

you're explicitly not indigineous to “europe”, and you literally cannot be: europe is not a single country with a single population group.

I mean its cool to like anti-indigineous movies with a white savior complex...I guess

The Jonathan Joss news is so fucking upsetting. Indigineous queer people are done so fucking dirty by the American public and our government. It makes my blood boil. Grief is not a strong enough word

I hope you all have a meaningful National Day of Mourning and reflect deeply on the Indigineous Genocide.

May justice and reparations prevail for all Natives.

I’m wearing orange today! For ones that aren’t sure what that’s about, today, September 30th, is the designated National Day or Truth and Reconciliation. We wear orange today to honour all the lives lost and damaged by the residential schools where Indigineous children were torn away from families

bluesky taught me that canadians also have a thanksgiving and that it's on indigineous peoples day. i am so ignorant to canadian traditions

Only people with medical conditions and HCWs and indigineous people and over 65s and a couple of other criteria can get it for free. but there is no process for confirming this, so the pharmacies (at least) are going on the honour system.

I hate this man. Tech isn't art.

Go back to making your green screen headache extravaganzas, built on the back of indigineous people into a digital highlight reel of colonialism.
James Cameron says he’s learning generative AI tools so he “can incorporate them into [his] future art”

He rejects the idea that AI will replace actors and filmmakers

Indigineous food cultures are still thriving and have always informed modern American cuisine.

Saying it's all been imported is really disingenuous.

Up to this blatant miscarriage of justice, I had not even thought about Mr. Buttigieg's sexuality.
I'm always too busy listening to the smart things he says and admiring his character.
What an inhumane thing to do to a family, to tear them apart.
We did it in Canada to the indigineous peoples.
