Got back home - interbay (20th/16th) is a thousand times better trip! It's longer but feels shorter and is 100% fully separated or concrete protected bike path from the Fremont Bridge to West Seattle. This'll be a regular Zoo route for us.

Finally made the 12 mile bike ride to the zoo! She loved it.
Finding a route was tough, a lot of sidewalk riding where Maps said I could ride a bike. Will definitely take a long way around back home and go via the interbay area.
