One of my favourite pictures of the hashtag#ishtargate was the eighth gate to the inner city of hashtag#Babylon (in the area of hashtag#Hillah, hashtag#Babil Governorate, hashtag#iraq). Build in. 569 BC for King Nebuchadnezzar II, who besieged Jerusalem and took the jews to Babylon.

Assyrian-American recreates Babylon’s Ishtar Gate with more than 3,400 LEGO bricks
PHOENIX, Arizona, USA — Assyrian-American builder Ramzy Hormes has recreated Babylon’s ancient Ishtar Gate using more than 3,400 LEGO bricks, seeking to bring one of ancient Beth Nahrin’s (Mesopotamia) most recognizable monuments to a new generation. Hormes built the model as a representation of the monumental gate constructed around 575 BC under Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II and dedicated to the goddess Ishtar.
