#JoePa
almost spit out my beer at "slutty JoePa costume," thanks

Football tickets were $6 because they’ve been losing. I considered going but I didn’t know in time to gather a Slutty JoePa or Smells Like Teen Spirit Penn State Cheerleader costume.

Look, I do not think the JoePa shit is worth it tho!
October 18, 2026 at 2:44 AM
is the mascot blindfolded in honor of joepa not seeing anything
October 12, 2026 at 4:34 PM
blind to what is happening around them

just like JoePa
October 12, 2026 at 4:49 PM
A quick google search tells me your beloved JoePa finished in the AP top 10 SIX times in his 19 years in the B10 era. Franklin finished in the top ten FIVE times in his 11 years there. And you pushed him out there year after a playoff appearance

Stop blaming ISU. It’s you and your culture.

And also the pain will continue until they finally stop treating JoePa like a god.
I have a perfectly centrist Penn State take: They really did have to split with James Franklin. Cmon. You know that. It's not tenable when the fanbase is gone. But they should have hired one of their first handful of targets and not missed signing day and been stuck importing a mid Big 12 team

Is that joepa
October 3, 2026 at 3:09 PM
lol the JoePa grotto i'm dying
October 3, 2026 at 12:18 PM
They are and also have “JoePa”
stenciled on them
October 3, 2026 at 12:52 PM
They wanted and got a white dude who would light a candle in the JoePa grotto every day

Matt Campbell unhesitatingly recited the Pledge of JoePa and accepted his initiation into the cult to get himself the 4th biggest budget in the B1G in Year and will finish somewhere around Penn State's annual basketball finish. touuuuuuugh beat
October 3, 2026 at 2:56 AM
Oh absolutely. I already hated him before he transferred here. Then I read about the Joepa stuff and his admiration and trying to bring him back. I’m no longer rooting for Penn State football while he is still here. I root for the other sports tho.
October 3, 2026 at 1:08 PM
I'm going to be really curious to see if he figures out how to win there eventually. But I'm rooting against him - NOT because he transferred from Iowa State. That was funny, actually.

I'm rooting against him because he made noise all off-season about how great JoePa was. Fuck that and fuck him.

Penn State’s refusal to move past JoePa will keep it from ever being more than a wannabe elite.

I’m an alum. I love my alma mater — my education is priceless. But I graduated in 2000. 1/?
Penn State traded a doofus for a bigger doofus who also wants to prop up Joe Pa. So have fun with that.
“They kicked it off??? What are they doing???” Ahhhh the Matt Campbell Experience
October 3, 2026 at 3:30 AM
In super-short, I maintain: The university’s refusal to move on meaningfully from JoePa will keep us from recruiting the kind of athletes who will bring the football program to elite status. Because the new generation? They don’t give a F**+ about JoePa. And that’s a good thing.
October 3, 2026 at 3:51 AM
Does Penn State have the money to fire Matt Campbell or did they spend it all on the fake JoePa desk?
October 3, 2026 at 2:58 AM
Just caught the Northwestern-Penn St score and I hope Chip runs it up on the “we wanna honor JoePa” ass coach there
October 3, 2026 at 2:48 AM
A buddy of mine who didn't even go to Penn State, but was from western PA, completely lost his shit at me for a fairly generic post about JoePa back when it was fresh in the news. I had been in this guy's wedding and he was posting unhinged vitriol at me about a school he didn't even go to

Imaging the residents of state college who are both Pep truthers AND JoePa truthers
October 1, 2026 at 12:10 PM
Pep? Refresh my memory.

With JoePa…that goes beyond the field. Michigan, Sparty, and Ohio State have had some awful things happen; to their credit there has not been a defense of the individuals involved like there has been at PSU.
October 1, 2026 at 12:36 PM
That game was always a big deal. Almost every Big Ten game was a huge deal to them.

I think a lot of the fans during the JoePA years are either old or dying off.
I think the best excuse was the Wisconsin game was not a big game.
Other good ones: parking in downtown State College used to be free, now it’s $50
The athletic director expanded the stadium and raised ticket costs
The team just isn’t very good.
September 30, 2026 at 12:42 PM
stealing the game last night was so delicious I gained 5 pounds
September 27, 2026 at 12:17 PM
Penn State was up 17-0 in the first half and 20-10 with four minutes left and lost

Maybe James Franklin wasn't the problem, maybe after everything that happened, The House That JoePa Built is karmically like playing on an Indian burial ground
September 27, 2026 at 12:57 AM
just now finding out that “joepa” is not referring to joe pera
