#Keynsianism
Isn't it a pithy way of pitching Keynsianism, you know the economic model that was so sucessful for decades before the ideologicalky driven neo-liberals screwed everything up

How about we make medieval-style Mystery Plays about the virtuousness of Keynsianism & GLP-1 drugs?

Watts enunciating "Keynsianism" as if he's speaking an archaic language.
J M Keynes revolutionised post-war economics-it's now belittled by politicians & commentators who mostly represent neoliberalism.
Polanski is right to promote Keynsianism-it's the only way out of this Neolib
Flustercuck.

i have many economic disagreements with my uncles (eg one believes the economy is bad bc of keynsianism, whereas i believe in wishy-washy concepts like “linear time” and “causality”), but imo they were talking about ai as an obvious bubble a year ago bc they think economies make stuff and ai… doesnt

Worth noting that the German stock-market is up over 3% today, not noticeably terrified of fiscal irresponsibility.

As I noted the other day, military Keynsianism is back, baby!
MASSIVE FISCAL PACKAGE OUT OF BERLIN: 12-20%+ of GDP.

- 500 billion fund for public investment
- All defence spending above 1% of GDP not counted for debt brake.
- Federal states can borrow 0.35% p.y. for investment.

Germany is back - economically and militarily.

5/ Yeah dude, Russia's economy is going great guns.

They're crushing it.

This is the kind of economic inisght and analysis that made Yanis such an invaluable asset to Greece.

Is monthly inflation of 6% and a 15% interest rate good, Yanis?

Military Keynsianism lmao.

Absolutely. Keynsianism is so last century

"For the parties of the centre, the sensible response would be to offer policies to boost growth"

But that means Keynsianism, which the centre has rejected like Dracula rejecting garlic. The Greens do offer growth. Nobody else does.

Keynsianism? It was the global consensus for decades and saw the biggest rise in living standards in Western history.

Obviously this is stupid, but on the plus side Military Keynsianism sounds like Stanley Unwin visiting a new town in Buckinghamshire.
Germans can no longer sell cars. So, they will build tanks. But tanks last for decades and consumers don't buy them anyway. That's why Military Keynesianism doesn't work, unless you start one war after the other US-style. Ergo, only fools welcome German Military Keynesianism.

remember that austerity doesn't work

keynsianism remains true

Did he also said all these about military keynsianism and the we are surrounded by jungle when he visited you in Moscow Prez?
October 12, 2026 at 8:12 AM
Wait, what do you mean by Keynsianism in this context?
April 5, 2026 at 1:17 AM
fängelse-keynsianism!

It's depressing to see guys who built their careers on blogs saying "immigration and Keynsianism are good" be reduced to this. Not great!
August 13, 2025 at 1:28 AM
the Labour right are horny for war and love a bit of realpolitik. But only in theory. The military Keynsianism now required to deal with actually existing geopolitics is beyond them. I think it’s the Keynsianism bit.
It's not that NATO will collapse if the US invades Greenland; NATO is already dead. The Trump admin could not have been clearer about that over the last year. They refer to NATO as if they're not part of it. They've been threatening at least 1 NATO ally since they took office.

On the other hand, people who understand economics realise that this black hole only exists if you believe in neoliberalism, not if you accept Keynsianism, which worked perfectly well for 40 years until Thatcher tore it up and set us on the path to the hellhole we now live in.

I get why USians re reluctant to turn their back on the military. Military Keynsianism is the backbone of the US political economy. On some level they (correctly) know they are all complicit, and that each and every one of them have blood on their hands.

But the solution is to fight to stop it.
January 11, 2026 at 4:50 PM
US folks (like myself) need to both take responsibility for the (likely involuntary) role they play in enabling this by fighting back against it; and demand that, barring revolution, the US move the fuck away from Military Keynsianism as its core economic strategy.

It's fucking disgusting.

In most of the West, we let Regan-Thatcherism replace Keynsianism (which wasn't perfect, but was the best form of Capitalism we've tried) and that supercharged things for like 30 years before it all imploded and now we're all basically stuck in an unforced error loop 'cause we don't wanna change.
October 23, 2025 at 4:08 AM
I think it is a case of "won't" not "can't". All parties are all-in on the post-thatcherite economic consensus. And as long as they won't look outside this consensus there isn't anything they can do other than flail. I do think plenty are aware that, say, keynsianism exists, it is just an anathema
