Woke up to some folks showing me changes Artstation is making as a due to their new owner (Kitbash3D) and while I do think they’re decent steps, they have A LOT of work to do to EARN that trust. Even see I am very cautious as the CEO of Kitbash has views of AI that I dislike too so I’m skeptical.

SketchFab (and ArtStation) have been acquired by a company called KitBash. I stopped using SketchFab as a portfolio when they were acquired by Epic, but still use it to find reference material. I don't know what this means for it's future.

My theory is when Epic bought these companies they were aiming to go public.
And now they are offloading companies I think they're aiming to sell instead.
Would not be surprised if they split Unreal from Epic, I don't think Disney would want a game engine.

Got an email saying #ArtStation has been sold to Kitbash3D. I joined ArtStation after Epic had already bought it but I'm very curious what this means for it going forward. Hopefully less AI and more focus on human art but we shall see.
