Famously one of the biggest US koumintang supporters in the 1940s one introduced Soong Mei-ling as “Madam Shek” which is funny for a lot of reasons.

In China, it was Koumintang who fought against Japan, not Mao's communist forces. Mao waited until Japan was defeated and then started a civil war against Koumintang.
