Our latest OS release includes our port of the 10th gen Pixels to Linux 6.18 LTS. It's now in Alpha for the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL and 10 Pro Fold. We've been doing public pre-Alpha testing and multiple days have passed with no more issues found.

Our latest 2026110200 release has been in our Stable channel for hours. It's our first release in Stable with our port of the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL and 10 Pro Fold to the Linux 6.18 LTS branch. There aren't any reported regressions yet. We found one minor issue internally.

Another possible factor is that people expect 7.4 to be the next LTS release.

Node.js 26 “Lithium” is now LTS! 🎉

v26.13.0 is out, with updates through April 2029.

Upgrading from an earlier LTS? Since Node.js 25, the official Linux binaries link against libatomic, so you may need to install it separately.

There are 0 additional changes required for porting the QPR2 drivers from 6.12 instead of 6.6, but most of the remaining patches needed adjustments.

We'll be porting the remaining Pixels from the Linux 6.1 LTS to 6.18. Those use a far different SoC but some work can be reused.

The release has been cancelled for devices not yet ported to Linux 6.18 due to a regression in the Android 6.1 GKI LTS branch. It caused a kernel panic for the Pixel 7a in our internal testing. Android already fixed it and we've applied the patch for today's upcoming release.

Linux 7.3 Will More Than Likely Be This Year's LTS Kernel
While the Linux 7.4 kernel will be released in the 2026 calendar year in the last week or two of December if the schedule holds, it turns out Linux 7.3 is likely to be this year's Long Term Support…

Not yet, (it will happen I'm sure) but FreeBSD is right there and LTS kernels exist for Linux as an option too.

Just moved my PCs to 6.18 LTS not sure why Manjaro is using a short term kernel when majority of the time they use a LTS kernel for stability since it is the Arch Linux derivative with stability
