you don't even need to make a technical or complicated argument here. they're liars. they've always been liars. they're lying about this. you're most likely to get nothing, and in the event you get anything at all, it's a consolation prize for what they want to take from you.

Also, the charge that Trump is "lying" almost always falls flat in a culture in which "all politicians are liars" is just an accepted truth for many. Examples of a Democratic politician lying are easy to come by...and then Trump or Musk's lies just come to look like a normal part of the landscape.

I can recall a time when lying, and being proven to be a serial liar was the end of public service.

this tool doesnt end with childhood. we categorize marginalized groups as childlike so we can treat them with the contempt we have for children. you cant always say “women are lying bitches” but if everyone believes children are liars and you treat women like children then you dont have to say it!

It's very difficult to always be honest, isn't it? Everyone lies sometimes. I think the problem is with notorious liars, because they can't stop. BUT there is a certain level of lying where it is no longer the liars who are at fault, but those who believe it.🐈⬛
