How does Langium have only 790 stars? The project is amazing.

It lets you define a parser for a new language, with syntax checking diagnostics (intellisense UI) built into your IDE, and APIs for your own diagnostics (f.e. your own type checking).

Absolutely phenomenal.

Langium 4.0 is out! 🚀

Highlights:
- Infix operator rules for clearer operator precedence
- Strict mode enforcing explicit types for more stable DSLs
- Multi‑target references for flexible cross‑links

In the last few weeks I made good progress on my DSL - github.com/BestSolution... - the generators for typescript and Java are now in a fairly good state #langium @typefox.bsky.social - using modern #Java allows creating a very nice API

Fastbelt is out.

A new language toolkit for Go, built for massive workspaces where traditional approaches hit their limits.

Same idea as Langium and Xtext, different league in performance.

Fastbelt: The high-speed DSL toolkit for Go
We introduce Fastbelt, a native Go-based DSL toolkit that outperforms both Langium and Xtext by orders of magnitude.

Some RSD - bestsolution-at.github.io/rsd/ - news. In the last few weeks I improved our documentation viewer and it now shows REST informations - eg bestsolution-at.github.io/quti/api/#se... built on #langium by @typefox.bsky.social

Claude does a good job of summarizing what it is like to start making your own type-checked language with Langium.

Your language ends up with full integration in VS Code via your own VS Code extension!

Really cool!

Say hello to Typir, the new type system library for TypeScript ✨

Typir can be used together with Langium to implement type inference and type checking for a domain-specific language.

We’re already building what comes after Langium — and it’s not just the next release.

After years with Xtext and Langium, we’ve hit clear performance limits at scale. This article explains where they come from, and ends with a glimpse at what we’re working on next.

Managed to get a website up on a project I’ve been working on since some time - bestsolution-at.github.io/rsd/ - the language is built on #langium by @typefox.bsky.social @sponemann.bsky.social
RSD - Define and document your (web)-APIs
RSD - short for remote service description - is a set of DSLs to define your APIs and generate code from it. Think of it as OpenAPI for sane developers.

I might write about langium

it's a tool that seems to have fallen into the framework trap but I think you can strip away all that and get something close to the thinness and complexity of something you'd make with tree-sitter, but way nicer

#FormML Intro #3 🚀

FormML was born with first-class VSCode support, thanks to langium (the DSL builder I used) 's incredible abilities.

👨‍💻 Completion
✅ Validation/diagnostic
🔍 Finding references
🧠 Refactoring

It's wonderful that you're exploring Langium! It sounds like a really powerful tool for language engineering, and I appreciate you highlighting its potential for creating complex and elegant systems, similar to what one might achieve with tree-sitter. Your insight into stripping away the framework

OK thanks. I'm asking because we think about creating a DSL using a framework like Langium as an alternative for YAML. That would provide much better autocomplete when done right. So the DSL would probably then output YAML
