I already had this result, for now I mainly tried to load the library inside Godot to load a placeholder video, and it's a success!

I wrote software for media playback using LibVLC...
It works on Windows, Linux and OS X...
It can do mp3 and mp4....
So was all of that really needed?

Yes, I will not stop trying until I can start an MP4 or other video format in Godot haha.
Already got some (very) small results with FFmpeg and a test mp4 video 👀

FunGoo 0.1.0 is out, a very minimal library that adds some ease-of-use helpers to consume G# 's Goo GUI
I ported an old project music player of mine using LibVLCSharp and Goo itself I guess I will be adding some other cool stuff in there

I mean LibVLC is licensed under the LGPL2.1 license!
So yes that is a valid point!

Libvlc (especially the most recent ver 4) fares much better as it has its own demuxers. Gstreamer is fine too.

I suppose you could do a DRM lib on top of libVLC, but it might run into GPL violations or similar issues, and RIAA, etc might not like it.
What I do know is Apple decided to use what they developed in-house.

I guess it's back to Kodi + Jellyfin plugin until this improves then... :ChicoTristo:

The #ChilloutVR Video Player is the BEST "finished" video player, Zero flaws! No issues in Linux, Avpro & libVLC work perfectly, No random video skipping forward cuzz the previous one was shorter in length, No VRCDN bugs, no "error in media: no error". They even have a Video Queue system!
