I'm a yes on all these except I'm even more progressive on health care. I think we should have direct government care instead of M4A - though M4A is a step in the right direction. My problem with M4A is it still relies on private providers and corporate third-party administrators.

If this bill passes, the hospital closures start nearly immediately. Can't even imagine how many tens or hundreds of billions in corporate debt/credit is calculated on the presumption of these funds. We are potentially talking "GOP loses every single senate race in 2026" territory

i think my take on this is: it is good that people to the left of center care about the well-being of people who aren't in our coalition. but it is not our job to do things we can't do because those people kneecapped us

As a Pro-M4A liberal, almost no one in the M4A space seems be honest, or perhaps even aware, about the fact that Medicare has numerous individual financing mechanisms, like Part B premiums and Late Enrollment Penalty (LEP) fees.
The sad thing is, Matt is right on this one. It's a lot easier to do the things Mamdani is doing in New York than, say, nationalizing one-sixth of the US economy. And not for nothing, but Biden did some really big things. He passed the largest climate bill in human history! And leftists hate him.
