the mp44 had good ergonomics but these were tested on the fg42b first and FN was already there with their BAR variants (mle 1930)

the main advancement of the mp44/stgw44 is to bring all these pieces together but they still only managed to make 445k by the end of the war, and struggled to make enough ammunition.
