É exatamente essa a vida dos tradutores que aceitam fazer “Machine Translation Post-Editing”, o nome “oficial” para revisar traduções automáticas. A culpa não é só da IA, a MTPE já existia antes, mas é o dobro do trabalho de traduzir direto e normalmente paga a metade. Um inferno.

Can confirm that one of the hired TL companies (Blue Horizon) used this workflow with correcting MTPE TL results
Behind the Manga followed up with their source who worked on a few Manga Million titles. They confirmed that was the process for Blue Horizon.

When translators say they hate doing MTPE because it's faster to just do it from scratch and results in better material, we're not exaggerating. If I was a proofreader and a translator handed me this, I would immediately tell the PM to fire them. No translation is genuinely better than an MT in loc.

meio foda de revisar mtpe (não fazer mtpe) é que às vezes fica impossível saber se a cagada foi humana ou da máquina

i am honestly a little surprised that mtpe caught on among translation companies/departments that fast. i guess i was expecting it to take longer + i kind of expected the sales part of translation companies to shield translators against that

They will cut your rates and tell you "but hey, you will receive a greater work volume!!! 😊". I DON'T fucking want to overwork for peanuts, I want a living wage with humane conditions and honest work.
I love being a translator but this is becoming absurd. Fuck MTPE.
