My MacFamilyTree 'relationship calculator' always gives me the alternative methods of relating via blood and via non-blood (marriage, in-laws etc).. and I nearly always have 4 options in total.

There’s a Quiz feature in MacFamilyTree that makes, by contrast, a really tough quiz out of all the research you’ve added to it. I rarely get the answers right though because it asks about distant relatives who I don’t remember adding 😅

I use MacFamilyTree and it has excellent tree reports/exports. You can zero in based on all kinds of factors, choose from a variety of colors and export to a PNG or JPG to put into your website.

Alright, thanks! I use MacFamilyTree for genealogy, and that allows you to build static websites from a family tree. It didn't used to include photos, but they just updated it and the new version does seem to make better use of photos. Still no face rectangles or geotagging, tho.

Thanks Jane, I’d more or less decided on FTM myself, but I’ve since come across MacFamilyTree 11 which also looks brilliant and also has an iPhone and iPad app. It only syncs with FamilySearch though, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Velmi aktivně: MyHeritage, párování z FamilySearch v programu MacFamilyTree. Mám hodně částí rodokmenu i přímo od konkrétních lidí, se kterými jsem se kontaktoval. Tohle neberu jako hru, kterou musím projít sám, jde mi o výsledek. Sdílení informací hodně pomůže.

Parallels is still a thing? I had no idea. I do like MacFamilyTree, but no experience using anything else for about 10 years now so I’m not sure how it compares anymore.

MacFamilyTree (though I’m sure there is similar for Windows …). Charts are excellent. With so many online trees, I use my desktop as a final stop, so everything there is vetted, cited and fairly high confidence. If you’re tracking DNA, not sure how well it works. May be fine. Not a function I use.
