#FamilyTreeMaker2024 appears to be closer to release - #FamilyTreeMaker Connect 2.0 for FTM 2024 was released this past week for both iOS/iPadOS and Android. It specifically mentions FTM 2024 by name and has FTM 2024 features.

#ThrowbackThursday - Looking back at a piece of #genealogysoftware from 1989 - Genealogy on Display 6.0, created by Melvin O. Duke out of California. Notably, it was still written in BASIC (I ran it with GWBasic under DOS). No GEDCOM. Limit of 500 people and 200 marriages or families.

I'm not going to lie, I thought this feature already existed, but the #FindaGrave mobile app (at least the iOS version) just added the ability to view photo requests from your volunteer cemeteries and areas near your location.

Clooz 4.4.2 is out, it's a Windows-based genealogy research tool for organizing/managing your genealogical documents. It works with Legacy, Ancestral Quest, Family Historian, and RootsMagic. This release is mainly bug fixes.

#RootsMagic users, you need to upgrade to RootsMagic 10.0.0.4 immediately (it came out yesterday). It's just bug fixes, but there are a few major fixes involving using drag-and-drop leading to corrupting family relationships.

Those using #GoogleMaps in #genealogy blogs or online #genealogysoftware ( #Gigatrees Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding, #webtrees etc.), there are changes coming to Google Maps in March. It shouldn't affect most of us, should still be free for many.

#RootsMagic 10 users - temporarily hold off on creating Relationship Charts - there is an issue with limited data loss when doing so (namely data entered after you create a Relationship Chart). A fix is coming next Monday (Dec 9)

The German #genealogysoftware Ahnenblatt v4.18 is out, with a "record-breaking" 65 updates - mostly optimizations and fixes/tweaks. You can now easily delete "islands" in your #genealogy database, and there are improvements when creating a book or GEDCOM.

HRE (History Research Environment) a replacement for The Master Genealogist #genealogysoftware put out a newsletter covering 2024, along with information on where they are at - they have been releasing builds to an alpha group including Mac versions
