The Cathedral Peak Research Catchments are in the northern part of the uKahlamba Drakensberg (Maloti-Drakensberg Park) in South Africa with a mean annual precipitation of ~1400 mm

The data paper for the 7th Plant Functional Traits Course has been published! We sampled 171 species across an 800 m elevation gradient in Witsieshoek, South Africa. The dataset covers morphological traits, leaf assimilation, thermal imaging, ecosystem fluxes and much more:

New publication in Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences! Led by Kyra Pazan, we introduce the Likonong Shelter in Lesotho, which dates to as early as ~ 242,000 years ago.

Likonong is the earliest-known site in Lesotho demonstrating a human presence in the Maloti-Drakensberg Mountains.
